Silver Age Planning

Aging in Place is the ability to live in your home and community safely and independently regardless of age, income, or ability level. As Certified Aging in Place Specialists, we work with you to develop your personalized design plan – created with care to help you live in your home with comfort and confidence.

The 5-Steps to Build Your Plan

As no two projects are alike, our process is scalable to suit the needs of the project. Whatever the size or shape, Silver Age works with you every step of the way to create your ideal home environment.

1. Home Health Consultation

The first step is a 15-minute consultation to get to know each other and understand your needs, budget, and schedule. Our initial consultations are usually conducted over the phone or video conference for your safety and convenience. Depending upon the size and scope of your project, we may recommend that we develop a customized Silver Age Plan or move directly into the Design and Architecture phase.

2. Silver Age Planning

Our comprehensive aging in place plan incorporates a Silver Age Health Assessment, conducted by a healthcare professional to identify essential home improvements, a Silver Age Home Evaluation to evaluate the condition of the home and considerations for modifications, and a review of your Lifestyle Goals to incorporate your desires, needs, and preferences into your design plan.

3. Design and Architecture

Once we've met in the home and have established an understanding of your needs and priorities, we will create design layouts for your property with product recommendations. Upon review, revisions, and approval, we'll draft the required construction documents and building plans with bid information and product specifications.

4. Pricing and Proposals

Comprehensive cost projections are established and presented. Silver Age Homes operates as an open-book Construction Manager. We collect 2-3 bids for each trade from our network of sub-contractors that are best-suited for the project. Then, unlike most general contractors and design build companies, we present their proposals to you with recommendations for whom to utilize for your home.

5. Approvals and Scheduling

Upon approval, we'll develop your schedule and submit applications for all required permits. Silver Age utilizes an industry-leading project management system and business processes to provide constant communication, streamline delivery, and minimize costs and disruption. Our professional Construction Managers manage and supervise all trades and workmanship through the life-cycle of your project.

The Silver Age Plan

The Silver Age Plan is the comprehensive guide that drives your home design. We meet with you to assess any health considerations, evaluate the home environment, and understand your lifestyle goals. We incorporate all of this into your personalized Plan, which we present to you with recommendations for space planning, product specifications, applicable smart home technologies, and professional services.

Your Silver Age Plan is comprised of three primary components:

Health Assessment

A healthcare professional will conduct a personal and confidential wellness consultation. The goal is to understand and account for any health, accessibility, or mobility conditions or considerations that will be essential to incorporate into your home design.

Home Evaluation

We evaluate the interior and exterior of the home to identify any mechanical, structural, safety, or security considerations. Based on findings, we can optimize our recommendations for enhancing your home while minimizing downstream complications.

Lifestyle Goals

We listen to understand your unique needs, style, and personal interests to inspire the creation of your new or improved home. The interview enables us to determine how to create your ideal home environment within your budget.
